Help reduce food surplus

Hi there ,

I volunteer for an exciting new community food sharing initiative called OLIO. It is a free app that connects neighbours with each other and with local businesses, so that food can be shared, not thrown away! If you love food, hate waste, care about the environment or want to connect with your community, then OLIO is for you. Since launching more than 370,000 people have downloaded the app and over 450,000 items have been saved from the bin.

OLIO is totally free to join. We have over 135 proud merchants using OLIO to share food that is left unsold at the end of the day. I’d love to find volunteers who’d regularly come over and collect any food that’s still good to eat but that shops and restaurants can’t sell for whatever reason.

I’m currently looking for volunteers who will be willing to commit a very small amount of time to collect food surplus from supermarkets, cafes or restaurants and are able to hand out the goods for whoever needs them! I’m also keen to hear from any supermarket, cafe or restaurant who have food excess and would like to donate them to us on a regular basis so it can reach the ones that need it most and not end up in the bin!

It’s an exciting challenge to be part of, do you want to join me?

Thank you
