I’m looking to move to the Forest Hill area (from Brockley) mid - end March 22. I’m looking for anything: house share, lodging, room to rent, or someone to buddy up with… It’s just me renting. I have bedroom furniture (my current room was unfurnished).
I’m a single, 35 year old professional female and I work in the higher education sector. Employed full-time.

We have a room available soon in our flat on Waldram Park Road. There’s not really room to store furniture though - the flat is fully furnished. How long are you looking to stay?

Hi Alice - just a little heads-up.
Room rentals are typically lodger arrangements or Assured Shorthold Tenancies in a House in Multiple Occupation.
As a lodger, there is no minimum term and you have no security of tenure because the homeowner can usually give up to one month’s notice at any time, after which you must move out.
As an AST tenant in an HMO, you agree to a certain term of 6 months, or longer by negotiation, and your tenancy can’t be terminated early, except for breach of contract, after which it could continue or there is a strict procedure and timings for ending it after the fixed term has elapsed (which could be dragged-out for many months, legally).

If you’re on Facebook, search for the South East London Housemate Co-op group. I’ve had friends use it for longterm living and brought their own furniture. There are flats, houseshares, etc.
