I’ve noticed that when a thread has hidden admin messages at the bottom it doesn’t show as unread for me. For example, the reinstated Cucina by starman has three ‘pink’ hidden admin messages about the split and when I read it, it doesn’t grey out. If this is just something that happens to team members, not a problem. But if all members are experiencing this it might be annoying.

I see this issue too but, like Rachael, I can live with it if it only affects the mod/admin team. I did some quick testing and I think it does only affect the four of us.
Does anyone else see this issue?
I get this on some posts, but maybe because I verify members. Doesn’t bother me but would be good to know if general members get this

Regarding the phantom unread posts, I’ve raised a bug report with the Discourse developers and will reply here when we get the fix.
I wouldn’t worry about it too much if it’s just us lot getting these X
