Amateur archaeology

Can anyone guess what this peculiar thing is? Currently unearthing it at the end of our garden. Feels solid, like ceramic. Curves around, and if it’s continuous it’d be about half a metre in diameter I reckon:

Seems to have a lip around it (which I’ve got my fingers in)

Well, if you think of the people who probably put it there - it saved them disposing of it. I buried a 6ft high concrete clothes line pole in my back yard, because I didnt have a sledgehammer to break it up (it was also rebarred) which might be an interesting find for someone in years to come…
