This is a course for those who already love, or would like to have the opportunity to try, slow hand-stitching- which can be a totally absorbing, pleasurable and mindful activity. It will start with some basic hand embroidery, then move on to more complicated or unusual stitches which may include Japanese sashiko, Indian kantha, English smocking and quilting, as time allows. The emphasis will be on creative experimentation in a friendly environment. This course is designed for learners of all abilities. It is suitable for beginners but basic hand sewing skills would be an advantage.
