FHPFC recorded back to back wins in the space of 4 days with a 3-1 victory over Bridon Ropes in the SCEFL Challenge cup on Wednesday evening at Ladywell Arena Stadium.
FHP was coming off an impressive 3-0 away victory on the Saturday vs Snodland Town in SCEFL league action, and carried on where they left off when they faced Bridon Ropes.
Manager Lee Roots made 5 changes from the side that won on the Saturday, and it only took FHP 20 mins to get off the mark when David Duru broke behind the Bridon LB after some neat work by O’Shea, Bishop & Beckford combined to allow Duru to show great strength to hold off the defender & showed great composure to score past the oncoming GK at the near post. It only took Duru 10 mins to double his & FHP’s lead when some excellent work down the left side from Teodorescu & O’Shea, saw the ball delievered into the box & with the ball seeming to miss everyone except Duru who finished the attack from 4 yards out.
FHP continued to dominate & dictate the game into the 2nd half & this was rewarded when the impressive Beckford broke behind the back line of Bridon after Teodorescu had broken forward with the ball, he played a picture perfect pass for Beckford to run on to & for him place the ball into the far corner for 3-0.
Cue great scenes & celebrations from the FHP players infront of the Clinton Rhule stand.
FHP conceded late in the 85th minute, a goal of which Bridon deserved for all there hard work and endeavour in the game, but ultimately came up short against an impressive FHP.
