Penge attempted child abduction- False allegation

This may get removed but I would like to make it known that the alleged attempted kidnap of a child last month in Penge Lane has now officially been confirmed by the Police as a false allegation.
The original topic was closed when I stated this and has not been updated.
As I know the person who’s description was given and they were subsequently questioned about this, I feel I must make it known that it was a completely made up allegation .
Thank you and hopefully all of you parents can sleep that little bit easier.

@pengeuser I hope you understand why the previous thread was closed until the case was resolved.

The police have confirmed with the person questioned that they believe it was a false allegation and it has been reported on another news sites (Bromley Times)

As Rachael mentioned, I hope it was clear that our closing the original thread was nothing personal - we just wanted to hold off until an official update as this was a sensitive subject involving children.
