A couple of times we see lots of events being added to the forum, which is great, but dominates the front page when really a bump closer to the time would probably be more useful, as noted/requested by @Pauline.
I think rather than a bump, if the events calendar could be made more prominent, perhaps with a today/tomorrow one line summary at the top of the front page, that may be good. Then if the entry of events topics could add another time based option to ‘hide topic until X days before event start’, that may allow things to be displayed at a more useful pace?
I guess ultimately these ideas would have to go back to the Discourse developers, but thought I’d mention it here first incase the idea can be improved or refined (or rubbished if need be!).
