New Year’s Honours for SE23 residents

The latest Forest Hill Society newsletter contains the following interesting brief recognising this year’s New Year’s Honours for SE23 residents:

New Years Honours for SE23 residents

Congratulations to Emma Worley and Harry Paticas for their honours this new year.

Emma Worley is Co-Chief Executive Office and Co-Founder, The Philosophy Foundation, which has its offices in Forest Hill Community Library.

Harry Paticas is the Creator and Architect, Stairway to Heaven Memorial. For services to the community in Bethnal Green.

Both are residents of SE23.

There were also an honour for Wlodka Robertson for services to holocaust education.

Wlodka recently moved away from the area but lived locally for many years and helped the Forest Hill Society remember Janusz Korczak, who visited Louise House on Dartmouth Road in the 1911. Wlodka met Korczak and the other brave staff in the Warsaw ghetto orphanage before she was able to escape from Poland.
