In the News
Thanks for the heads up - my wife is now off to Catford!
Not quite so dramatic a hole this time:
I think it is important that everyone affected by this makes a claim. Southern and London Overground will do so against Network Rail and I reckon Network Rail will do so with Thames Water. Who will put up our bills given half a chance.
It appears this time round, Southern are able to operate a southbound only service to Victoria and Caterham, but is sporadic.
do you think I’ll be able to get back from London Bridge then, or should I try for Thameslink to Catford
On behalf of the Forest Hill Society I have written a strongly worded Tweet to the hole.
Go away @foresthillhole Give us back our railway!

I am trembling at your assertiveness.
Still out of action this evening:

I’m going to leave work at 6pm, in Hackney, and try to go via Highbury & Islington, Victoria, Penge, and 75 bus.
hopefully I’ll be home before 8pm…
Thank goodness for the Blackfriars to Crofton Park route, only 15 mins late in this morning and expecting a relatively easy commute home (famous last words?)
Just back now. I will cycle tomorrow!
The Beatles in their song “A Day in the Life” from Sgt Peppers covered a similar situation:
“I read the news today oh boy
Four thousand holes in Blackburn, Lancashire
And though the holes were rather small
They had to count them all
Now they know how many holes it takes to fill the Albert Hall”
So Forest Hill has a few more holes to go…
Ah! So you may be the one behind @foresthillhole on twitterland then Jason!
I think the trains might be running today.
