Looks like more parents \ pupils are selecting local Lewisham secondaries this year as preferred choices: from Lewisham’s website here
62 per cent of Lewisham children were offered a place at their first preference school compared to 57 per cent in 2019, an increase of 5 per cent.
There was a significant increase of 10 per cent in Lewisham residents putting down Lewisham secondary schools as their 1-6 preferences since last year.
Seven of the secondary schools in Lewisham saw an increase in first preferences this year.
I know quite a few people move out to Kent and elsehwere for secondary schools, or think about it, but I am feeling a bit more confident about some of the local schools, but will have a better idea when I visit next year. We’ll start looking more next year and will judge more when we visit the schools, but I believe there are some good School Heads around which makes a huge difference - I’m hoping so as I expect we will be staying put either way!
Edit - I should add I originally saw this on the Lewisham Parent Engage FB Group
