MOT Tests - please still try and get them done

As the Government announced yesterday there has been a 6 month extension on MOTs given for cars and light vehicles.

Please be aware that you are still able to get your MOT done if you wish despite that extension as legally your car needs to be in a legal and roadworthy condition. This will be particularly important if you need your car if you are a key worker or need to use it to get essential supplies and medicines.

The majority of us are not MOT testers, there is no possible way we can ensure our cars are safe without an expert telling us, simply checking your oil and water level, having a look at tyres and making sure your brakes work does not ensure your car is safe to drive.

If you are found on the road with an unsafe car you risk a £2500 fine, 3 points on your licence and a driving ban not to mention putting yourself and others at risk if you were to have an accident due to something on the car failing, so if you are able to take your car in for its MOT please consider still getting it done, not only will this give you peace of mind but it will help the garage industry keep going in these uncertain times.

Dartmouth Service Station on Dartmouth Road will remain open for MOTs and any other mechanical work to help keep you safe on the road.

Please give them a call on 0208 699 0077 and they will do all that they can to assist you.

No and I don’t work for them, I am just trying to voice my opinion and hopefully help some people out to let them know that they are still open for business should anybody need anything for their car.
