Does anyone have any insight about when or if the Lewisham green waste collection service is going to start up, given the current state of the world. I’ve found this page on the council site about services:
Corona Virus critical service closures
But otherwise nothing, other than the “normal” info that the service should start in April.

Do you mean start taking new subscriptions for garden waste collection?
Ours was collected last week so think it is operating as usual for now?
No, I subscribed back in January, for whenever it was supposed to start up.

Yes, do that. Renewals are deferred, collections ongoing and new subscription unavailable.
Ah that probably explains the increase in bonfires then …
Bromley Council stopped doing garden waste collections a few weeks ago, but reinstated them to due the big increase in people having bonfires which was having a negative impact on air quality.
Only if these bonfire people would have recently wished to subscribe to the garden waste collection service.
My neighbour’s has been emptied. They collect all year not just in the summer months, unless it’s changed from last year.
They collect every week all year round.
Ah, maybe that’s what they meant when I started my new subscription, was that it would only start in April for me. I’m fairly sure that’s not how they phrased it though!
My husband is the manager of the green waste service at lewisham council and can confirm that its business as usual with the weekly collections continuing without disruption.
We have had a garden bin since the scheme started, but haven’t received the subscription for this year yet? Am I right in saying that is going to be late, or should we expect it soon?

Thanks for this info - I’d been wondering the same thing, after I saw reports last year of garden bins being taken away for non-payment!
