Recognise this bike?

This bike was left/abandoned in a private residential area in forest hill over a year ago. It was left after a Saturday night, so it may have been a drunken, forgetful mistake  :bike: . It sat in place, unlocked for a month. None of the residents recognised it.

Does anyone recognise it?

Sell it and buy some nice flowers for the street.

You could try posting it on https://www.lfgss.com (London Fixed Gear & Single Speed) - it kind of looks like a delivery bike which probably wasn’t locked up while someone was out working, and someone took it for an opportunistic joy ride. Sad.

It was left behind a coded entry door where the public has controlled access so I don’t think that it was joy ridden there.

I should also note that it doesn’t have a frame number so that isn’t an avenue for investigation.

You might consider donating it to the Bike Project. They repair and recondition bikes for refugees and asylum seekers. For those able to work, a bike like this would be perfect for someone seeking work involving deliveries.

There are a couple of local drop off points. Though a few weeks ago, they had a local collection campaign. I guess it depends how quickly you want to get rid of it.

You could check if it has been registered stolen on the off-chance it’s been registered here: https://www.bikeregister.com/bike-checker

Another option in addition to the above (though they are closed now due to Covid I believe but still contactable) is the Young Lewisham Project who amongst other things get young children to learn and fix up bikes and give them something to do other than getting up to no good. Better explained below.

Thanks all for the good suggestions for disposal by donation, but I must first make best efforts to identify the owner as the bike is not mine to deal with.

Any markings that are only visible under UV light?
