The Co-op

Whilst I am here, I just wanted to say that our local supermarket is the absolute best. During lockdown, the staff have been absolutely blooming amazing. The people working there are the pillar of our community and have kept things going. They have managed the store exceptionally well in difficult times and I strongly salute them, so make a point of saying Hi and most importantly thank you, even if you have to self serve. Which Coop?

Totally agree. They have been superb. It’s the nearest shop to us and have been going there once or twice a week to pick up essentials (and ciggies- not essential I know but they are to me) since the week before official lockdown. I’ve only had to wait in a queue for more than 5 minutes 4 times. Otherwise it’s been pretty quick. There was a lot of problems with stock at the start (as did most supermarkets I think) but that seems to have sorted itself out. There are still some issues occasionally but I think that just depends on the time of day/when they have had a delivery/luck. But the staff have been brilliant. And always friendly and chatty. Which does really make a difference when you are slightly on edge trying to make sure you are following social distancing. Unfortunately, I have noticed that customers recently are not adhering to social distancing as they used to. I see a lot of people In there without masks, in groups barging past others, not following the directional arrows on the floor etc. But I think that’s happening everywhere. But we have been so lucky to have the CoOp so close and open.
