This alert was posted on a Facebook group I’m a member of so thought it might be useful information for any gardeners who might be growing courgettes in their garden or allotment!
Product Recall - Mr Fothergills Courgette Zucchini BATCH I seeds

Seen this also - good point to raise @ChrisR.
I think the main thing to keep in mind more generally is that if you start to eat a courgette that tastes bitter bin it and the plant it came from (if you grew it yourself), and if you are growing always by seeds direct from a trusted supplier (the above issue is extremely rare I believe) and comes I think from cross pollination which is easily down in gardens and allotments hence getting seeds from specialist suppliers.

Thanks@oakr - I’m not a gardener so don’t grow anything but I do buy and eat courgettes, so it was useful to read about this issue as I’d never heard of it before!

I know gardeners who have been growing for donkeys who swore blind this was a hoax. It is rare but it is real - there was even a death related to it in Germany fairly recently.
