Assault near Catford

I was running along Perry Hill and Catford Hill at about 7.30pm this evening (towards Catford) when a man (or possibly teenager) ran up behind me and grabbed my backside extremely hard before running off. It happened on the corner of Catford Hill and Pattenden Road. I’m fine - I was just a little shaken - so this is really just a warning to other women walking / running in that area to be careful and alert, especially now it’s getting dark so early. I’m afraid I didn’t get a proper look at his face at all and he had a hood up, so I can’t provide any useful description.

Thank you all - it was a little scary at the time but I’m fine. I have reported it to the police and will just try to run a little earlier when it’s light from now on.

How awful for you, very sorry it happened.

Whilst you absolutely should not have to as a result if this, people often seem to from even ad-hoc running groups or get running partners so it might also be worth asking if there was anyone who wanted to run with you, should you want to run later in the day but it feel comfortable doing it for a while (and it might just be nice having a running partner sometimes).
