Charitable present donations for children over Christmas

In previous years there have been a couple of charities locally that you can donate new books, toys etc to and they distribute them fo children who are less fortunate. The ones I’ve contacted aren’t receiving items/ doing anything this year. Does anyone know of any charities that are looking for donations.

I should also make clear that we donate £ to Magic Breakfast monthly and other charities, so this is just a physical one off item donation.

Thanks

Hi Pea,
There’s a local teacher on another forum doing shoebox gifts.
Here’s a link …

Moon Lane Books are running a scheme where you can buy books for at least Kilmorie school. From a recent email:

Moon Lane Ink have put together a carefully curated list of quality titles suitable for classes across the school to reflect London’s diverse population and ensure that all students can see themselves and their families represented in the books at school.

From 30th November until the end of December Moon Lane Ink will keep a copy of the list of books behind the till so parents can pop in (when they reopen) or call up on 0203 489 7030 and choose an additional book to buy for the school. All books purchased by Kilmorie parents will then be stamped with a message from us all and given to the school in January.

I’m not sure if this is specific to the one school or exactly fits what you are looking for, but might be worth considering.

Note nextdoor requires a login - are you able to summarise for others to see?
