Hello,
Wondering if anyone here knows of someone very competent that could help complete a special project. Our son has made a beautiful small conga drum and has come to a stand still because he can not get far enough down inside to hollow out more of the centre where it tapers in nearer the bottom.
We really need someone who knows what they are doing as can in no way damage it.
Or recommend any certain tool or device.
That’s beautiful! I don’t know anyone but am interested in any responses to your post because I had a tree felled in my garden this summer and want to get something made from the wood.
Thank you. It’s the first time he had used a lathe, he did do 2 smaller ones before this one, but then we found out it needed to be bigger.
The first one was shaped from one old log from my mum & dads garden by unfortunately started cracking. But felt & looked lovely, the second he used various different woods, but as said both too small, so neither were hollowed out.
Then this one which he/we really need to complete, keeping it intact.
So will update if we find away.
It’s really lovely- he’s obviously very talented.
