Covid fines issued at Forest Hill Car Wash
I mean… that’s a v long time coming.
If it’s the one I think it is, can anyone explain why there are so many ice cream vans parked there?
Haha side hustle?
Covid vaccine hub?
Bloody car washes, Glad they got fined, They think there’s one rule for them and the rest of us toe the line.
Came pass there earlier on the train and the top half of the yard looks like a Car breakers ?hit everywhere, Ice cream vans, Tyres and car wash , I sure the council need to visit. I am glad i dont live in any of the overlooking flats houses, Must be a Fire Hazard with all that going on.
Personally, out of all restrictions closing car washes is one of the ones I get the least. Even unstaffed jet-washes are closed off. It’s all in the outdoors and social distancing is perfectly possible.
Regular car cleaning isn’t some kind of needless luxury but part of good care and maintenance. What you get instead is people washing their car on the street which is both illegal and very bad for the environment. I wonder how many fines are issued in those cases.
Didnt know cleaning your own car outside your house was illegal???
Been doing that for years .
Pretty sure it’s not illegal to wash your car on the other hand having a dirty car is.
And you seem to be right and I was wrong - it seems to be perfectly legal. Whether it’s a sensible idea is another matter. That said, I wonder if all car washes like the one at Waldram Park Road collect the run-off water for treatment or sewage. It’s definitely a legal requirement for them. If not then the effect would be the same as washing on the street.
I think it is against the current covid rules (with the exception of ensuring safety).
Absolutely. I meant in general but that of course isn’t the topic of the thread.
Wish I’d got there before the police arrived; my car is absolutely filthy.
If you want a clean car, do what I do. Approach your car with a bucket of soapy water and a sponge. Wait for the rain, retire indoors whilst nature does it for you!
Yes and I noticed two massive concrete bollards behind the gate presumably to make sure nobody else moves in!
