Finally at the end of the first week back to reality, and the first full week of commuters and school runs starts next week. So who has plans for the weekend?

I have Gung-Ho at Windsor tomorrow morning, which I see there is lovely weather for… Rain!
As usual, the good weather starts on Monday! Grrr

Gung-Ho indeed @anon64893700! Just looked that up - Looks fun I think although not entirely convinced myself of that.

This weekend I will mostly be digging up potatoes and tiding my allotment up. I am off on my hols at the end of next week so I need to get a few things in order first. Having a plot means I generally leave my hols till the growing season is just about done so it’s off to Brockley with me come rain or shine to dig up my spuds, take the last of the corn and pick any toms that are ready. I do live the party life.

Sounds pretty good to me @Foresthillnick
Wish I had the willpower and commitment to do something with my garden. Must be a nice feeling to provide for yourselves so to speak.

As for Gung-Ho, I haven’t run in months, and it isn’t in my DNA to take it easy. Could get messy, bit the Go Pro footage will tell all lol

Well I expect to see some footage next week…

Having spent the last few weeks clearing up my FiL house we for some reason started on ours (slaps forehead). I plan to continue do just that this weekend with a few BBQ’s and beers thrown in for good measure.

Don’t get me started on clear outs and revamps John. I have bitten off far more than I can chew.

Sounds good to me @Cazimo, bit of work, bit of play. Good combo.

@starman Epic mate! He is one hell of a showman, so that close that is going to be amazing! Enjoy.

Billy Joel at Wembley on Saturday. 8 rows from the stage baby.

Then maybe the Sydenham Woods Open Day on Sunday if the weather is nice followed by Brief Encounter at the Capital as part of Forest Hill Film Week.

You lucky lucky man. I saw him in Tokyo in around 1980. He was superb. His live at Madison Square Gardens is one of my top ten albums!

To be honest I really don’t know a lot of his work. So may have to download a greatest hits album tonight. Unless he is going to sing Uptown Girl all evening.

I was the same at Springsteen a couple of months back. But if there is one thing the oldies of the industry can do, it’s entertain!

Nice - may have to curtail some gardening exploits to have a wander down there. When we first moved to the area we spent most Sunday afternoons wandering around there pretending to be county folk.

Well I think starman wins my jealousy for the weekend.

My favourites:
Angry Young Man
Captain Jack
Downeaster Alexa
Longest Time
Miami 2017
You’re my Home
Innocent Man
And So it Goes

And quite a few other excellent songs. Always loved his music.

I’ve heard that one.

Goodnight Saigon played very loud through headphones. He is a fantastic social commentator.

Billy Joel sounds great! Admittedly I’d only know about 4 songs, but would be very happy to hear Piano Man!

No major plans - Chandos, and possibly Barenaked Ladies at the Roundhouse on Saturday night!

Saw Barenaked Ladies at Hammersmith years ago and they were actually quite disappointing (and it was a relatively empty venue - no atmosphere). Hope they do better for you.

How Canadian of you.

Yeah, I never got to see them with Steven Page, but still have fond memories of a lot of their albums.

I’m watching “Captain Fantastic” this evening at the Greenwich Picturehouse. It’s a film about a survivalist socialist family in America that has a culture shock when they move from isolation to the city.

Gets 8.1 on IMDB but only 1/5 from the Guardian. Touched a nerve with their columnist, evidently

Sounds like my kinda movie

Oh I forgot - Tour of Britain. Last stage is in London so I’ll pop up to town tomorrow…

I’m in the middle of a large front garden project, rebuilding steps and brick walls, so mostly knocking down stuff… And also started potty training the boy today!

It may be grey out there but the Bobby Moore Suite is dry and the drinks are free. Whiskey and peach schnapps. Who knew?

We went to Rye for the weekend. Absolutely perfect. Walk to camber castle. Pootle on the river. Camber sands. Mooch round the town. Lots of wine and ice cream. Only 90 minutes away.

Bribery works! We did a chart, 5 days on the potty and she got a Lightening Mcqueen car. It worked. Just wished we had tried it first.

End of a long weekend. Lovely but short bike ride on Friday.

This madness on Saturday https://youtu.be/0hFw7_LX9PQ

And getting @anon65350507 's daughter settled at the beautiful Writtle University today.

Time to sit down and let the body ache now.
