No Southern Railways service from Forest Hill/Honor Oak Park this weekend

Due to major engineering work taking place on the track and signalling between East Croydon and Victoria Southern Railways is unable to operate any of the usual services into Victoria Station this weekend and for the remaining weekends and Bank Holiday in May. Some services will run to and from London Bridge instead and to accommodate these services “our” London Bridge services will not operate.

London Overground is operating as normal this weekend between Crystal Palace/West Croydon and Dalston Junction/Highbury & Islington.

When I got the job at Sainsburys HOP, the journey looked simple and quick. The reality is that getting there is quicker by public transport but getting home involves a dreadful wait at Croydon for a tram which takes me well over an hour. Having recently bought a hybrid car with significant petrol savings, I think that the oyster over 60s pass that I will be eligible for next year won’t be used much.
