Lewisham foodbank gets generous donation for care packages from local...

A housebuilder is supporting a foodbank in Lewisham to help increase the number of food parcels delivered to members of the local community.

The £500 in which Bellway London has given to Lewisham Foodbank will help support those in need.

The foodbank warehouse, which is based at Hope Centre in Malham Road, has around 30 volunteers who help to prepare and distribute a range of items to five centres in Lewisham.

Logistics administrator at Lewisham Foodbank, Martin Anns said: “We are extremely grateful for the donation from Bellway, which has been vital to ensuring we can continue to support residents who are in need.

“The foodbank is relied upon by single parents and families, as well as those living alone, and they are there for those who are referred to the centre from organisations such as a housing association or Citizens Advice."
