Treacle?!

Hi, this is a bit random but I have just been in every shop in Honor Oak between Crofton Park coop and the Sans Store looking for treacle. I have a yearning for parkin (or at least parkin in two weeks). Anyone know where I could buy some? It’s wall-to-wall golden and maple syrup but no red tins!

Hi, my wife’s just made some Parkin. We got the treacle last week from Brockley supermarket on Brockley rise, It was next to the golden syrup. Failing that, apparently they sell Parkin in Waitrose as well.

We’ve got a few slices left if you don’t find any treacle, my wife’s happy to donate to a fellow Parkin lover.

That’s so kind! I checked in Brockley Supermarket but they’d run out. I will try the big Sainsburys in New Cross tomorrow.

The offered parkin is very kind of you but I’m planning on making one to share with my sister and I’d feel bad for gifting one someone else had made! Happy to know there are more parkin lovers in SE23!

I bought a tin in the Bell Green Sainsbury’s first thing this morning - they had plenty then.
