Fixing old printers

When I used to work in town, I found a charity that took old printers etc and used them to teach kids how to mend them. Once fixed, they were sold and the money raised was used to buy parts for the next donations.

Does anyone know of anything local that does the same thing? During a Christmas clearout, we’ve found a couple of old printers and it seems a shame to through them out if they could be used as teaching material.

It might be worth contacting the Young Lewisham Project (based locally I think). I don’t know if they do this with printers, but they do what you describe with bikes so possibly with other things.

Another possibility is Emmaus. They repair stuff and sell it, including electricals, but not sure about printers.
