Eeek.

Keeping a close eye on the very tall and rather rickety tree in our neighbour’s garden.

Same here.

Thankfully most trees will not be in leaf which would have made it far worse.

First tree down, on Perry Rise. Fortunately it doesn’t look like it’s done any real damage to persons or property, but the school gate is somewhat blocked:

Wind definitely picking up now. My neighbours trampoline is on it’s side and making good attempts to cuddle our fence.

I wonder where all the birds are? Flown away or taking refuge in bushes, nest holes etc?

I saw a Jay clinging to a tree.for dear life earlier.

He’s gone now.

One of the trees on Perry Vale by Valentine Court. :disappointed_relieved:

A house near us has lost part of it’s roof, roof tiles on the ground and the back part of the roof flipped over to the front

Spoke to the owner and at least everyone safe as he said.

This crane? Look at the hook swinging:

Not local, but the O2 has been ripped open. Stay safe everyone.

Windy enough to uproot… a bench up on Blythe Hill Fields!

Most of the trees look okay, though this one on Blythe Hill road hasn’t faired too well:

Not all the damage is bad though - the ugly fence on Duncombe Hill Green is looking increasingly unsafe and has lost a few panels (the trees however look untouched):

I did wonder if the developers would ‘help the wind along’

I wondered that too. I often take pictures of the green from the same perspective… just in case it might ever be useful, should something unexpected happen.

I saw several trees down on brockley cemetery, so it was good the council closed it today.

Quite an impressively large mature tree at the corner of Perry Vale / Westbourne Drive also snapped yesterday, smashing the Valentine Court sign and taking some branches from another tree with it:

The sign had been rotting for some time, so probably broke easily, though it does look quite dramatic!
