(Sorry to be a forum ranter but…)
- The rickety old (but vital) bridge across the middle section of Waterlink Way/River Pool Park has about three signs on each side asking cyclists to dismount before crossing - and it’s now even spray painted on the path but still about 95% of cyclists pay no attention and carry on cycling at high speed across.
Every time I use the bridge on foot the damage this is doing looks and feels worse and it would be such a shame if it were to get to the point of having to close for safety issues (and goodness knows how long it would take to be repaired).
So if you’re a cyclist using Waterlink Way PLEASE dismount when crossing.
- Can dog walkers PLEASE stop letting their dogs get in the water and chase the ducks/wildlife. I’ve seen many close calls of dogs getting very close to the ducks down there with owners stood at the bank making no attempt to stop them or get them out. With nesting/hatching season coming up this is particularly important - ducklings are extremely vulnerable for the first few weeks. So if you cannot control your dog sufficiently please keep it on a lead whilst walking by the water.
(Ok rant over)
