A sink hole has opened up in Forest Hill forcing road closures.

Perry Vale is still closed both ways due to a collapse at Westbourne Drive.

It has been confirmed that this is the result of a collapsed sewer.

Drivers hoping to travel between Church Vale and Waldram Place have been forced to find a different way round the sinkhole.

The 356 bus is currently on diversion as well.

A council spokeswoman said: "Thames Water has been contacted and will take over the site and repair.”

In August of this year two sinkholes opened beneath the train tracks in Forest Hill causing rail chaos.

The 13ft (4m) deep hole opened up above a collapsed sewer causing days of commuter chaos to trains running to and from London Bridge.

Terrible news. This really stinks.

I just had a look down the now excavated hole - it is enormous and looks like it could take a while to get sorted.
Apparently drivers have been removing the barricades and driving round it.

Lets hope they fall in.
