Hey All

As promised we will be setting up an “Adult Advisory Board” for our library…

If anyone would be keen please let us know :heart_eyes:

@AndyS you interested? Meetings will be quarterly so only 4 times a year. I think you would give fab input :+1::+1:

Hi Pauline

Can you tell us something about the responsibilities and remit of board members?

Thanks!

The “Advisory Boards” for both adults & kids will advise us (Management Board) on what they would like happening in their library.

It could be regular or irregular activities or clubs. Author visits, talks, and just generally what the community wants from the library. Also to let us know if there is anything you don’t like that we are doing so we can improve it.

The idea with the “Advisory Boards” is that we can go over their minutes at our meetings & make a decision on what we can and can’t deliver of what is asked of us.

With our plan being we will deliver what we possibly can that is asked of us, and what we can’t deliver we will give reasons why it can’t be done.

So the main responsibility for the boards would be to take all locals views into consideration and put forward to us what the majority want & also to make us aware of any concerns local residents may have.

We ideally would like one person from each local School to sit on this board alongside “The Philosophy Foundation” @EmmaW, a local Cllr, a couple of our

volunteers, and a few local residents that have a passion for our library & the community.

We would also (if possible) love peeps that have any experience in:

  • Fundraising/funding
  • Victorian Heritage
  • Publicity
  • And a couple of other things I don’t have off the top of my head until our minutes from yesterday’s meeting are sent to us - which we’ll probably get this evening or tomorrow as they are very swift
