Local playgrounds

We have just moved to the area, and I’d like to know what local playgrounds are good for toddlers? We know the one by Horniman. Are there any others ?

Mayow Park (not in SE23 but walkable) has a nice little playground for toddlers, with the advantage of a cafe and toilets too. The entrance on Silverdale is nearest to the kids playground but the cafe is on the other side near Mayow Road. There is also a nice wildlife garden near the cafe.

Blythe Hill park has a nice playground, with a sandpit, lovely views over the city (unfortunately no toilets or cafe)

Venturing towards Catford there is Ladywell Fields park - there is a playground good for toddlers just past the athletics track (where there’s a spiral bridge over the railway line), and further down towards Ladywell there is another small play area with climbing frame outside the cafe and toilets.

Slightly further but only 10 min drive there’s Crystal Palace park which has a sandpit and kids playground, with a small farm, and lots of dinosaurs to spot!

Dulwich Park also has a really good playground, plus ducks, cafe and toilets.

Peckham Rye has a small toddler playground near the duck pond, great cafe & toilets with another little playground, and some nice landscaped areas which mine enjoyed exploring. Plus skate park and adventure playground for older kids.

So lots of choice. This is basically where my children have spent many many hours every summer

There’s Wells Park too which has a very nice playground (with water sprinklers in the summer). It’s a lovely park.

There’s also a few small ones dotted around, but depends where you are!
