Car crashed into cafe at FH station
What time did this happen?
No idea Rox… I didn’t even notice until I saw a few people taking photos and thought I’d have a look.
There are no lights in the cafe… I do hope no one was hurt.
The London Fire Brigade were called just before 7.30am and the area was cordoned off. A spokeswoman said: “We sent two fire engines after reports of a car in collision with a shop. “Nobody was trapped and nobody was injured.”
It’s a nice little place too. Often overlooked amongst the more trendy places in the area but does decent grub at good prices…
I see you’ve started driving again…
I actually thought it was your car at first.
On a serious note here, who is responsible for the damage?
The cafe owner or the car owner?
Both will have excess to pay on insurancei (if it’s in place & hopefully it is) but I’m genuinely interested to find out who will pick up the bill.
I hope it’s not the cafe as they were not at fault.
My thinking here is going back to when the bakery (walrus painting now white & no 41 off the top of my head on D Rd) had a car go through the window some 20 years ago & the shop owner at the time forgot to renew his insurance policy. Hence why this was closed for so long & had to be sold. Back then the shop owner was expected to replace all damage as far as I know.
Hope this is not the case now & hope the cafe gets back up and running asap.
It will be the responsibility of the person causing the damage, in this case, the car driver. Quite a new PEV by the looks of it so hopefully insured.
A ‘15’ plate going by @starman’s photo. It’s pixelated out in the Standard’s pic.
