House Burglary

Hi there! I thought there could be some benefit in posting this on the forum as the police have no leads and it looks like someone might get away Scott free with a burglary in the middle of the day!

On Friday between the hours of 12:30 and 14:00 our flat was burgled, we are located on Montem Road, on the junction between Montem and Brockley Park and someone managed to get in through the front door (relatively easy the police said - the door is located to the side of the house so maybe it was not in full view from the street to notice) but once inside they managed to smash in three of the four flats front doors where they managed to steal a number of jewellery and other valuable items.

The culprits used gloves and although the police asked a couple of neighbours at the time they have no leads and as of yesterday are closing the case.

My last resort here is posting this in case someone may have seen someone acting suspicious at this time. A long shot i know but by the sounds of things the culprits seemingly waiting for my flat neighbours to leave the house to make their move so it seems potentially planned…which is disturbing.

I don’t live down that way, but I do hope they catch whoever is responsible. It’s not just what they take, but the violation of your property. Have the Police suggested anything you can do to further protect your flat?

Thanks for the message, it happened on a Friday and due to no leads by Monday they had dropped the case…very disappointing. Surprising that this happened in the lunch time in broad daylight and no one saw anything suspicious.

we are replacing the doors to include for a ‘London’ lock, which should be a bit more secure but you never know.

Perry Vale Police have tweeted about an elderly vulnerable couple having been burgled in Forest Hill yesterday.

Any more news? What do these morons get off on, burgling elderly people.
