What plants are these?

Have no gardening experience, but trying to plant a veg patch in my garden which already has lots of plants – trying to figure out if these should stay or go.

Top one is Hot Lips Ornamental Sage. It’s a keeper. Cut it back by two-thirds in November and again in March. That will keep it under control and encourage flowering.

Second one is a weed.
