It is the final weekend of Summer Club and the sun has finally made an appearance!
Come join us for a drink in the garden, bring the kids (we have plenty of toys and colouring to keep them busy) or take part in our amazing FREE events.
SATURDAY 26 AUGUST:
BASECAMP STUDY GROUP: 1pm - 5pm
Artists Flora Parrot and Kelly Large invite you to collaborate with the BASECAMP. Drop-in and explore the basecamp, add to it and look at the literal, geographical basecamp and draw your own parallels with imaginary landscapes.
‘I’M GONNA LOVE YOU A LITTLE MORE B-A-B-Y’: 6.30pm - 8pm
Using Barry White’s hit single ‘I’m Gonna Love You a Little More B-A-B-Y’ as an anchor Junior Boakye-Yiadom will be collaborating with artist Ima Abasi-Okon on a sound performance experimenting with live and pre-recorded material, transmitting via Skype.
SUNDAY 27 AUGUST:
ABSTRACT NATURE: LINE, FORM AND TEXTURE DRAWINGS INSPIRED BY FOUND NATURAL OBJECTS: 1pm-3pm
Join artist Sandra Keating in this participatory workshop which is open to all as you explore outside the space to find your own objects, in order to draw from them and create a whole range of monochromatic drawings on different sized surfaces including paper and wood.
BASECAMP WORKSHOP: 2pm - 4pm
Open to all, the workshop will include film clip screenings, performance and drawing ‘tasks’ that explore the themes of the project: anticipation, tension, boredom, team dynamics and leadership.
UPCYCLED TEXTILES NECKLACE WORKSHOP: 3.30pm - 4.30pm
Learn to make a colourful plaited necklace with local fashion designer Karen Arthur using scrap fabric, ribbon and plastic bags! No sewing experience necessary AND you get to keep your fabulous creation! (Suggested donation: £5)
