UBREW - Live Extract Brew Demonstration
Clapton Craft Forest Hill and UBREW invite newcomers, professional home-brewers and the general public to watch a FREE live extract brew demonstration take place in-store this Saturday from 1:00pm. Pop-in and watch the UBREW team take you through step-by-step and answer any questions you might have about the process on the day.
What is ‘extract brewing’?
Extract brewing is the form of brewing used by most new brewers. Extract brewing involves the use of concentrated Malt Extract in the brewing process. The use of malt extract lets the brewer skip the mashing process, and move directly to the boil and fermentation steps. Extract brewing takes considerably less time and equipment than All Grain brewing. In extract brewing, Malt Extract is added directly to the brew pot and boiled together with Hops to create a sweet liquid called wort for fermenting. You can make very high quality beer using extract brewing, but don’t take my word for it, try it for yourself.

And, for all you Imperial Porter fans out there, we’ve got something extra special for you! From my own personal collection of dark beers - some of which now rare and hard to find - I’ll be bringing in a bottle of something very special brewed in collaboration with Siren and a certain Scandinavian brewery (the beer begins with L) 1 bottle only which is sure to go quick so check back around 5:00pm tomorrow to find out what it is.
Have a nice weekend and we hope to see you all very soon.
