Cancelled or only going to NCG, or they were when I was there 30 mins ago. Signaling problems. Seems to have gotten so bad recently.
All trains cancelled from Forest Hill - 13-Dec 08:50
Thank you everyone who posts traffic/trains delays problem thought to take train to work today but hurried to get the bus.
Can you shed any light on why there are SO many signal/points failures at New Cross Gate? It seems to be a weekly occurence now. This morning was horrific, not helped by Southern running the few trains that could have taken passengers to LB fast from Crystal Palace.
Ah. That explains why everyone was battling to get on a southbound train.
Is this the new timetable? Three trains during the 5pm rush hour? The first in the 6pm is 18:21?
Oh…
I thought there were supposed to be more?
It’s been a dreadful service the last two weeks. Not helped by the ‘running fast’ wheeze which I find infuriating. Just when i’ve been inconvenienced enough Southern just decide that I can happily be inconvenienced a little more so they can get back on track. Can I claim anything back when I use contactless?
I count myself incredibly lucky, but in the 2 years I have lived in Honor Oak today was the first morning I’ve had trouble getting to work on time. After years of regular delays when I lived in South Croydon the service here is a dream in comparison.
That doesn’t look like a new time table just one service dropped off. All the others are the same. I have noticed this before some mornings on trainline or network rail app when a specific service will just drop off. Not show as cancelled or anything. Then next day there it is, back again.
The 5.20 today wasn’t cancelled per se, but rain fast LBG to Sydenham as it was only 4 carriages. We had to get the 5.18 and change to overground at NXG.
Was at the 17:2o and what a treat for sydenhamites, didn’t take long to change to the overground back to Forest Hill but made me miss the times when we had a couple of fast trains to Forest Hill from London Bridge
Quite a few HOPites wandered down to the joys of Crofton Park station. The 8:58 from Crofton to (I think) St Albans was absolutely rammed but was shortly followed by the 09:01 (arr 09:04) to London Blackfriars which was OK, partly cos everyone had crammed onto the 8:58, and partly as the 09:01 is an “express” non-stop to Elephant & Castle (well to be accurate it did stop a couple of times, but not at stations). Obviously working close to Blackfriars helps for me, but it does get you on to Tube network at E&C. There’s also a 8:43 from Crofton Park to Victoria. I think the service from Crofton Park is pretty awful earlier in the rush-hour, but the above are not unreasonable alternative if you are at the HOP end and a 09:00 departure time is acceptable.
it was a disaster for me this morning…had to get an Uber into W1 or I would have been late for an important client at 10am.
had to pay more than double due to demand so £50 lighter:cry:
BUT i did get in on time.
the situation with transport here is DIRE
I moved to FH 3.5 years ago and transport was blissful (for a short period) until the London Bridge redevelopment and sinkholes started. Roll on 2018 for a full London Bridge service!
The only civilised option to work for me is a longer walk to Crofton Park (HOP is my local station) and either the 8.23 or 8.43 today Victoria which only stop at Denmark Hill before town. I always get a seat and walk to my office in Westminster. The overground is nice for evenings out but the interchange at Canada Water and crowds at Westminster are awful - this a much better option (one I am loathe to share usually as I want to keep getting a seat!) Catford trains also less reliable and equally overcrowded…
7.39 and 7.52 both cancelled already this morning. Everything else expected to be running fine, just helpful to leave us with a half hour slot without trains.
Season’s greetings from Southern Railways.
Closing topic as this relates to yesterdays issues. If anyone spots any issues today, please can you report it on a fresh topic.
