Hello everyone. (My first post on SE23.Life!)
Two years ago I moved into a house in FH with a recent loft conversion. Unfortunately one of the windows (in the wall of the conversion, not a roof window) is leaking. Whenever there’s heavy rain mixed with high wind I find water inside the frame when I open the window, and the wall next to one corner is becoming steadily more damp.
I’ve had one builder round to look at it, but he couldn’t see anything obviously wrong, and was unable to get outside because it’s on the 2nd floor with no easy outside access. His recommendation was to find a proper “window doctor” who would be able to diagnose it and could deal with working on windows that aren’t easily accessible via a ladder. (Worst-case scenario, might need scaffolding so people could get up to it, take off the surrounding slate tiles, look for leaks, etc.)
Hence this message. Has anyone here had to hire window repair people/companies and been happy with their service? If so could you recommend them?
