Lost Cat - [Found]

Unfortunately earlier today our 2-year old tabby and white cat with white paws escaped out from his cat carrier, so wanted to ask if people around the Wyleu St area (SE23 1DU) in Honor Oak to please keep an eye out for him?

Although he’s an outdoors cat, he’s only ever been outside around the back of our flat. As it’s self-contained and he got out at the front of the property, he’s likely in an area he’s unfamiliar with, and there’s no easy way of him getting back to his usual territory. He’s quite a shy cat so would really appreciate people giving us a call if you see him on [removed as found].

If people could also check in sheds/garages and under bushes (he loves to hide) it’d be really appreciated. Photo attached and he responds to the name ‘Bear’.

Thanks,
Neil & Helen

I have shared this on the SE23.life social media channels. Hope you’re reunited soon with Bear.

Just to say despite having given us a scare he’s made his way back and we’re reuinited. Thanks to anyone in SE23 who kept an eye out.

So glad you found him!
Did the poo advice do the trick?

(From the neighbours with the fluffy grey cat)

As a cat owner always worried about them going walkabout, please could you share the poo advice?!

Didn’t have to use poo in the end, we did put one of his scented objects outside (an old scratching post) which may have helped. Or may have just been that he’d explored more previously than we’d realised and just managed to make his way home when he got hungry!

My cat was lost in the snow once, she was missing for 3 days. I put her poo from the litter tray out in the garden and the next morning she was outside the window meowing. She must have recognised her smell. Likewise, one of their toys would do the trick too :yum:
