A writer, performer, burlesque artist and general empress of blag based in Bristol. Vanessa has won over ten slam titles including The Roundhouse Slam 2014, Hammer and Tongue National Slam 2014 and the Nuyorican Poetry Slam, and has toured the world extensively. Her poetry collections ‘Joyriding The Storm’ and ‘A Recipe For Sorcery’ are both published by Burning Eye. Her one woman show SEXY is currently on tour with the kind support of Arts Council England, Bristol Old Vic and Camden People’s Theatre. She has been appointed Bristol City Poet 2018 – 2020.
