New empty shop next to Superdrug

From google street view, looks like a Western Union / money exchange place.

It was a cheque cashing place then as above, Western Union.

Can’t say that makes me sad

The money shop! Where you buy money!

Financial services are all fleeing Forest Hill. Hmmm…

Yeh, I haven’t read it through properly, but I think the above article must have been referring to this shop, together with our Santander and Barclays, as making-up 25% of the financial institutions that had already planned back in 2017 to move to Dublin because of Brexit. I might be wrong though };^)~

They are closing because a presence on the high street is no longer essential. Not because of Brexit

I don’t think the FH branch is moving to Dublin

That would be terrible service

How times are changing Catford is booming with new start ups a monthly Sunday food and street food market people used to mock the area. So it’s not really surprising that Forest Hill is becoming a second or third choice destination.

Good craic though.

Catford had a £10M cash injection from central government, which is paying for its regeneration over the next few years. Really great to see some much-needed investment in the area.

};^)~
That was me winking cos I wasn’t being serious and, even worse than that, it turned out to be a bad attempt at a bit of dry humour.
