Accepting Cards / Izettle

This may be of interest for sole traders etc if you want to accept cards but volumes are low. Izettle (https://www.izettle.com/gb) provides the smallest, dinkiest card acceptance device you ever did see (PIN entry / swipe only) which plugs into Smartphones/Tablets etc and its free for businesses, no monthly fee, though of course there is a transaction charge. They also do a contactless terminal for a modest cost. The Sports Club in Lawrie Park Road got this for the club bar and it seems to work well. I’m not an employee of Iz BTW.:wink:

Just FYI this kind of post is welcome but in my opinion should be in the commercial category (I have just moved it here). This means it will still be visible on the forum, but only to users that browse to the “commercial” category (which local traders inevitably will do). The post also won’t go out in digest emails if it’s here.

I have to be a little sensitive to commercial-looking posts on an open forum, as I’m sure you appreciate. With “Verified” users we’re a bit more liberal about what and where they’re allowed to post.

If there’s anything commercial that you’d like to promote into the main forum, this is possible, but we control the rate of this and charge a small fee. More info on this can be found here:
