Christmas and New Year Rail information

Christmas Eve: Bar one train at 0624 to East Croydon, there are no Southern services. A Saturday service will operate on London Overground.

The final service to Forest Hill from Canada Water is the 2201.

Christmas Day/Boxing Day: No services.

Thursday and Friday 27th/28th December: Except for the 0626 to East Croydon, there are no Southern services. London Overground operate a Saturday service.

There are two late night Southern services from London Bridge, these run at 0020 to West Croydon and 0035 to East Croydon.

Saturday 29th December: No Southern services except the 0626 to East Croydon and two late night Southern services from London Bridge at 0020 to West Croydon and 0035 to East Croydon.

London Overground will operate a normal Saturday service.

Sunday 30th December: No Southern services.

London Overground will operate a normal Sunday service.

New Year’s Eve: No Southern services except the 0626 to East Croydon and two late night services from London Bridge at 0020 and 0035.

London Overground will operate a normal Saturday service with the last through train to Forest Hill at 0001 from Canada Water, although interchange with the final Southern train is at 0031 to New Cross Gate.

THERE ARE NO OVERNIGHT OVERGROUND TRAINS

New Year’s Day: No Southern services.

London Overground will operate a Saturday service.

Ugh. What a nightmare. So no direct trains to LBG from FOH at all over Christmas? Royal pain in the backside.

It’s due to Victoria’s Southern platforms being closed over Christmas. The long distance services are diverted to London Bridge, so the platform slots used on our line are the first to go as we have a regular Overground service.

This has already happened on some Sundays this year.

When exactly does that start - on Christmas Eve? Or is there an impact on that weekend of 22/23 Dec?

Southern trains run on the Saturday, not on the Sunday.
