Have you considered getting involved in the Forest Hill Society?

Forest Hill Society AGM is on 20th October at Louise House. It should be a useful meeting to find out more about what is happening around the Library, Louise House, and possibly the Dartmouth Road improvements.

But it is also your chance to join the Forest Hill Society Executive or one of our committees, to help us in our continuing mission: To make Forest Hill an even better place to live and work. It doesn’t take up a lot of time to be on the Executive, we have about 8 meetings per year, and committees meet about 6 times per year on specific issues. Lots of members of the Executive have brought great ideas to the table, and together we make them happen - flowers in the high street, saving train services, saving swimming, saving the library, food fairs, Shakespeare on the High Street, Burns Night Suppers, swings in the park, etc
What would you want to see done to improve Forest Hill?

Our current committees are:

  • Transport - from train services to walking
  • Environment - planting flowers, supporting other local park ‘friends’ groups, and organising walks
  • Planning and Development - Commenting on planning applications and developing new strategies to improve Forest Hill town centre
  • Communications - Producing quarterly newsletters and social media strategy

One of the nice things is that every year a few new people join the committee, and this keeps ideas fresh, and brings in new talent. Is this the year that you might have time to get involved in the Forest Hill Society?
