As a frequent user of this forum, how do you go about reading the latest topics? Do you just log on to the main SE23.life page and read through all categories, or do you select forums from the drop down, see pic.

All or select?

Sorry @moderators hope you don’t mind me asking this. Just curious, especially further to the discussion with @ChrisBeach

Looking at the stats, appears most people stick on the homepage, but a small number click through into individual catgeories, with #dining-and-drinking being the most popular (approx 0.3% of pageviews):

Cheers for that.

@anon5422159 with the above in mind, is it not worth reconsidering the visibility of topics on opt in group for new users?

Any new user to the forum will have no idea that fitness, geek etc exist. And seeing the way topics are controlled, may think starting to talk about running, cycling or tech related issues is somehow unwanted.

Just a thought. I know we have had this conversation many times.

Opt-in groups are more accessible than ever:

  • We introduced a large banner shown to all members, with a link to the “getting started” topic, which mentions opt-in groups.
  • All members receive a welcome PM which mentions opt-in groups
  • Mods mention opt-in groups frequently (almost daily) in topics in the main forum.
  • The link to the groups page is visible in the main menu:
