Lewisham Council: List of Planned School Streets

The agenda for the forthcoming Overview and Scrutiny Business Panel

details the school streets that have been implemented and are planned in the borough. From January 2021, this includes camera enforcement for school streets at local primaries such as Elliot Bank, Haseltine, Rathfern and Kilmorie.

As well as some stats on the lowered levels of pollution, there is a quote from Lewisham Councillor Sophie McGeevor, Cabinet Member for Transport and Environment, and also the following interesting insight:

I had feared that using school staff to enforce school streets could put them in conflict with some parents and residents, so it is good to hear that Viv Nicolls has been able to use the opportunity to connect with the community, and plans to continue to do so.
