The swifts are back! South East London is a hotspot for these charismatic birds, but they are in sharp decline and need your help.
Take part in Lewisham Swifts’ citizen science project and survey swifts in your area. This involves walking your designated survey area on three evenings spread over May, June and July, recording swifts flying at roof level and identifying any nest sites. Each survey walk takes 30 to 40 minutes and is a lovely way to spend a summer evening.
