On Saturday a member of our forum was automatically banned by our forum software. This was due to his posts being flagged as “inappropriate” by several members of the site in recent weeks. The moderator team reviews all flags and in this case we agreed with them.
Moderators had also privately messaged this fellow about his antagonistic posts, but he didn’t take our advice onboard.
It’s regrettable that anyone should be banned. The community guidelines are clear though and moderators will take action where necessary to protect the long-established culture of this forum.
Moderators had been discussing a suspension (rather than ban), but the software took action before we’d come to a decision. So we’re willing to unblock the member’s account next Saturday if he’s willing to accept our guidelines. We’ll reach out to him then.
