Moving house - furniture going free!

We’re moving house in two weeks’ time and have some larger pieces of furniture we’re not taking with us.

We thought about just doing a council collection, but wondered whether anyone might know of a better cause that might be able to make use of them?

We have:
Orange, two-seater sofa (a bit tatty, might suit a cat sanctuary or something as ours have been at it a bit!)
Two large-ish bookcases in good condition
Two wooden office desks in very good condition
Old school, large, metal, Brother sewing machine, built-in to metal table top unit (yeah, a bit obscure!)

If anyone is interested or knows a local charity/scheme that could use them, it would be great to know!

We don’t have access to a car/van (or much time) so collection would be needed.

All the best,
Matt

Hi Matt. Before you considercouncil collection would you consider donating to British Heart Foundation? They’ll collect and then send you a nice letter telling you how much money was made.

Exactly the sort of thing I’m looking for, thanks!

Although I doubt they’ll be interested in the sewing machine… or would they?

They take electrical goods. But for my own interest what type and how old is your sewing machine?

It’s a Brother B755 MkIII. A large thing.

Ah… that’s a bit too industrial for me.

Maybe Stag & Bow might be interested in this sewing machine.

Thanks Pauline, I’ll try them.
