26 Nov '21

This course is for those who want to embrace the old and the worn, and to prolong the life and use of much loved textiles in their life! The emphasis will be on hand-stitch, but the sewing machine will also be used where appropriate.

You will learn how to darn a hole, patch a rip and repair generally. If time allows more specialist stitch techniques for mending will be covered, such as sashiko, kantha & needle felting. If you have a textile item that you wish to repair, you will be encouraged to bring it in and work on it in class.

Course starts on 1 December 7:30-9pm at Adult Learning Lewisham, Brockley Rise Centre, London, SE23 1PR
