We desperately need to upgrade our car (a mini isn’t cutting it when traveling with a growing toddler!) and we’ve been told good deals can be had at those big car lots but does anyone have a good experience or can advise on one not too far away?
Or recommend a good local ford garage as we think the ford focus may be the way forward?

I got a 2013 Focus from Bristol Street Motors in Bromley. It’s fine for two little kids, and boot space was enough for our old pram, buggy, change bag, scooters, bike etc… Both rear seats are ISOFIX for car seats and high-back boosters.
Other than that, it is a car with plenty of reviews elsewhere, and ULEZ exempt.
We have bought our last two cars from Car Giant (White City), it’s sort of insane (essentially a car supermarket), but, considerably cheaper than high street dealers. They specialise in ex-motability cars/ex-company cars, we’ve bought two there. You won’t get schmoozed, they’ll let you test drive, they know their stuff, but they do bulk sales - so we didnt experience lots of pressure. If you’re not sure, they’ll move on to the next customer who does want to buy it. That’s our experience. We bought a Ford Focus estate, it was easily 20% cheaper here, than an equivalent in the local Ford Dealer showroom. But you’re limited on colour etc, you can only have what they have in stock.
Our daughter has just bought her first car, a Peugeot access from them on Monday. (Car Giant). It’s a nice car, only 3 years old & a good price, as she was on a limited budget. She went to look with her brother & sister in law, as she has no experience of looking! They looked on line first & booked a test drive the day before.

Would also recommend car giant. Got an Audi there last year and you pay less than at most dealers.
